An imbalance in your work/life priorities can lead to burnout, which can leave you feeling: exhausted mentally, physically and emotionally; irritable; depressed; disillusioned, empty and low in motivation and drive. Burnout usually stems from constant feelings of stress, feeling undervalued and overworked, taking on too much to do, not saying "no" when you want to, and by not setting boundaries that you are comfortable with. Often times, burnout is caused by too much pressure, real or imagined, and too little recreation. Recreation is pleasurable experiences where you can take a break and let your worries go. Recreation is much needed to rejuvenate yourself so that you can handle stresses and pressures in life. Life without "re-creation" is like living mechanically, leaving little or no room for fun, relaxation, exploration, reflection, creativity and personal growth. There is no need to live mechanically or with little pleasure, and there is a way to bring your life into balance so that you can experience life more fully and with much more joy!
